Cornerstone strives to provide the best possible support for the grieving in each of the services we provide. As such, we have taken unique approaches in our method of care for the grieving:
- Cornerstone offers both individual and group counseling, allowing for a person’s readiness for group support at the appropriate time. The course of therapy is individually tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
- Cornerstone is one of the few grief centers in the country that offers support to the whole family. Our support groups are divided according to age (children, teens, adults/parents/guardians) and are designed to allow families to attend on the same evening and receive age-appropriate grief support.
- While most support groups are not professionally led, and in cases of violent death, suicide, or other traumatic incidents, the facilitators often do not have the required training and expertise to facilitate effectively, Cornerstone’s groups are led by Master’s Level clinicians with extensive experience in bereavement support.
- Our Licensed clinicians utilize various counseling methods (e.g., art and other creative therapies and games) to help participants express their feelings and learn new ways to cope.
- Cornerstone is founded on Christian values and offers services to all regardless of their belief system.
- Cornerstone conveniently offers individual and group therapy for children at their own schools (restrictions apply based on location/distance).
- Cornerstone offers free and sliding fee scale services, based on ability to pay. No individual or family is turned away for inability to pay fees.
- Cornerstone offers family workshops and events, including summer camps, memorial activities, and much more.
